Lilting Shadows
A Different Tick Tock
Detach the book and the blue. This is what the man had to do. As he imagines the story that is read. Alone as he slept in his bed. The blue wall opened up it began. He got down on his knees in the sand. And peered silently watching the sky. A lady rather shy walking by. Her hair was entwined with the light. Her walk in tip toes, such a sight. She was trying to show. That here, nothing is nothing, that matters. His thoughts to himself at that moment, as to why her actions were pertinent. Could not be explained. Could not be denied. Could not be any other type of surprise. Then turning the page with fascination. Convinced tresses; the complete explanation. A peasant runs by and his dog seems to fly, Away from this lovely green pasture. Away from the blue, To something quite new. From all that had recently happened. The cross on the wall was the inspiration for all or maybe that’s a senseless perception. Could it be that the clock. Made a different tick tock. Or the blue was not really a color. Could it be he was told. Not to be quite so bold. It's true when you think of the answer. Detach the oft blue and a book read to you and get up from a much needed slumber. I don't know what to do. When listening to you. Said the man as he woke during thunder. Copyright Susy Kamber

Lilting Shadows
Air blown velvet around window sills. The reflection outside as the curtain is pulled aside contains water possessed with puddles dressed in white chiffon. Sheer flowers and a visiting butterfly flirts with my eyes. Lilting shadows decorate the wall speaking to each other in the morning. A surprising grin on my face as I turn to get dressed. The soft shadows contained on the glassy surface speak to each other. Caressed shades of green. Cashmere goats see themselves gaze into the stream. Sipping themselves. Copyright Susy Kamber
