Colored Song
Orange man with a yellow head. Had come to earth to stay. He said the sun was way too hot. And Gemini so far away. At this I wondered of his name. So as we spoke I asked, ‘Excuse me sir’ I said with vim. I’d like to know your past. He said the place that he came from. Was written long ago. I thought now what does all this mean I profess I’m somewhat slow. And when I looked again at him. I saw that he had changed. His yellow and orange parts. Completely rearranged. From where he came to how he looked The process very wrong. So now a man appears to be. No longer a colored song. He said this happens every time. To every person’s days. Try hard my friend to see again. The colors not the haze. And I too thought his yellowed head. Was something right to wear. I wanted colors from the stars. So everyone can stare. One day I hope we all can see beyond the black and white. If words can help. Then let’s begin. To color back our sight. ©Susy Kamber

The Colour of Rainbows
from wind into silence. from mist into rain. from love into light. the colors proclaim. come close to our flowers and here you will find. a solitude in nature, the blessing divine. so wind took the silence and played a young harp. the mist danced the raindrops into beautiful thoughts. then love breathed upon us as we opened our eyes. the color of rainbows were here at our side. ©Susy Kamber

My Dress
A dress with a conversation inside it. Take for instance a bright sunny day and you choose a dress perfect to go along with that. I think I’d choose a soft blue one empire waist style with little flowers in the fabric and nothing else because it would look pretty enough to catch the light as I step out the door. On a bright sunny day a dress probably feels downright cheery, when it goes outside. The last time this dress was worn it had picked up all the scents of the day. If you held it real close you would for sure notice. I remembered it smelled of flowers and the fruit stand I walked by. The peachy smell was there along with an earthy scent because I had been eating one of the peaches I bought when you walked past me. Do people make a scent that attaches to their clothes? I know they do if you get real close to them, but I was just out there with a drippy peach wiping it off the flowers on my dress as I looked up and caught your eyes. I really don’t know how you got in my dress, but you did. ©Susy Kamber
