A Thousand Swept Messages
White water bubbles, On the waters edge, Did they happen by chance, Or possibly instead… As quickly imagined, Were they something else, too. Perhaps white bubbles in designs or wishes he knew. ( next stanza). A man with a brush. He painted them blue. He said that the sky induced dreams to come true. In between parts were touches of gold and set between these his wishes to hold. A thousand swept messages. Those watery sealed blooms. Were noticed as reflections one summer afternoon. S. Kamber

According to philosopher John Armstrong, “Reverie is the state of giving ourselves up to the flow of associations. This state of letting something happen—a species of relaxation—is one we need to cultivate when we look at paintings or buildings. . . . Reverie is a mode of introducing personal material into a picture or building: it brings an abundance of thoughts and feelings into play. It also frees us from merely following routine assumptions. . . . Reverie operates at the root of thinking: it is essential to the creative process in which we come to make thoughts for ourselves.”

New Vistas
The lapse between my mind and heart, often in disagreement finds ways to coexist in peace as I travel. It is the way of those to ease in together as broad steps reveal new vistas around me. Now aligned this ease of combination lifts my spirit into a concubine of hope. How does this occur? Perhaps similar to ocean waves carrying a renewal of water to the land or sightless sound waves holding a distinct recognition we hear, my thoughts and emotions are one. I sense what has existed before I, the land never lonely, has grown enormous lengths. To touch eternity it continues to be. Upon this brief earth, I too surrounded by this message feel safe.
