Her Daisies to Love
Photograph
2026
Creation dateYou might begin to think of the darkness as her earth brown and green. She...who gathers a vastitude of daisies. And all things that grow tall and bend from the wind. The brilliance of colors turned on stars. In the night sky shaken. Dropping lights from afar. To see her cut out yellow daisies. She placed in a mint green vase. The perfumes intent to find us mingling. As we sip the apples and peaches juiced. Poured into two gold tinged glasses to savor. A drunken potion remains a stain on her lips to kiss. Her daisies to love. Copyright - Susy Kamber All rights reserved Song Selection - MOR - Paint it, Black

Come venture into forests when darkness takes hold. The skies turning purple and stars becoming light. The feelings in air that touch on your sight. Arising as mountains majestic and bare. The trees kiss together, the earthen wares stare. During strumming of quiet a forest tis born. All in her silence, for you becomes known. Copyright - Susy Kamber All rights reserved

Green Grasses Covered with Woolen White
Photograph
2025
Creation dateEnveloped in the sojourn of nature, I became the nature this awakened in me. Something inside that innocence and quiet. A duck wading in a fast moving stream, or a leaf bent from its limb pushing the grass. The tree in the wind blurred and aroused. The light inviting me into crystal clear passageways with all the shadows in rapture. Show me the wide open fields sung with laughter. The birds together; a cacophony of words describing their homes. Take me there to green grasses covered with woolen white. Play in nature for her longing endures. Kisses To Touch The Water
Photograph
2025
Creation dateThe shade’s intuition for yang meets me somewhere. aloft upon a mountain side or field beginning to shine. Restfully it settles. Wrapping shapes and sides around a fondness. Of something to hold. Perchance sweet touches in still water form reflective lips the branches drink from slowly. So much so the rapid bursts of waves turn soft around me. Caressed into an opened watery gaze simple to share. My paint brush in languid swirls with not a drop wasted addressing the canvas. As I weave the blending of this moment into branches. Presenting kisses to touch the water. Copyright © Susy Kamber Song Selection - Ólafur Arnalds - Particles feat. Nanna Bryndis Hilmarsdottir
Reshaping the Words
Photograph
2025
Creation dateThis brailled coat of darkened earth composed of long tinders of letters holds a message. The circular edges had been pulled apart in each word, angled now almost into a river bound for a shore. Maybe even splintered I gathered from this overhead view. All the earth I had ever wandered past always held a message. A code of sorts to behold, wrapped up to feel and translate into something meant to be understood. What had happened here was a mystery to unfold. Every part a textual interpretation of a landscape escaping. From what I wondered. Quietly she told her story, the breeze reshaping the words as I listened. Rising and reborn for the future I heard them say. To the river to purge themselves, to begin a new message of hope. Reverie
Photograph
According to philosopher John Armstrong, “Reverie is the state of giving ourselves up to the flow of associations. This state of letting something happen—a species of relaxation—is one we need to cultivate when we look at paintings or buildings. . . . Reverie is a mode of introducing personal material into a picture or building: it brings an abundance of thoughts and feelings into play. It also frees us from merely following routine assumptions. . . . Reverie operates at the root of thinking: it is essential to the creative process in which we come to make thoughts for ourselves.”
I Feel
Photograph
2025
Creation dateI don't know how to feel this place. Is it in the dust that exists there, a way to become opaque, unknown and forgotten. A camouflaged person mixed into the earth. Forming me into another part. Is it in the clouds aching to lower themselves, so I can walk through and be mystified, the unknown and forgotten in me awakened. Can I see into the holes without holding a candle? Or just stare at the opening wondering if darkness would turn me black as the night. Now opaque in that form. Yet, in not knowing how to feel this place. The stasis of hope longing to be free, awakens. I touch the dust, I paint the clouds. I sense the holes. I feel. Rain On Me
Photograph
2025
Creation dateTracings of fields parted and pulled back. A pathway to wander. My hand does the same to my hair. Softly alluding to the curls. Flowers might occur in that field or a ribboned barrette to blow open. The wind becomes entwined in both. A discourse catching streams of light. Golden brown sits on top of the earth aroused. Twenty thousand waves approach the fragrance of this place. The entire field becomes an expression of rapture. Twinkling lights arising as the wind catches their shapes into a newly created form. Rain on me, she sighs. Copyright © Susy Kamber Song Selection - Nils Frahm - Amber (CMusic)
Written in Places
Photograph
2023
Creation dateIt was going to rain, I knew it, I could smell it in the breeze. The air turns to a certain flavor and you can taste it in your mouth. When I was little I tried to explain that taste. You have to breathe using your mouth and your nose at the same time and I guess it gets into you that way. It’s blue I said, because how best to describe rain. I guess you could say other words to describe the taste, but I was little then and blue was the best word I knew to call it. I would do it with my mouth open and my nose breathing in deep. Even when it wasn’t going to rain, just to practice. Like one is dancing for rain to make it happen. You know it’s working when you get the scent into you and see the people all scrambling around for shelter. Not me, I love the rain as it approaches, it’s not only the smell though. I remember sticking my tongue out and tasting it. Wondering where it came from before I found out. Now, I Ieave my hair there to get all wet from the rain and when no one is looking I put a piece of it in my mouth to taste. © Susy Kamber All rights reserved Song Selection - Cherry Blossom Girl - Air
Imaginary Flowers & Spring
Photograph
2025
Creation dateSeeds grew up on me as I slept. Visible dreams someone placed there. I thought them flowers or formations intended to open my eyes when I awake. Red flowers bringing green wafts of fragrance from a far off hillside near a pond. Inside that water lives a pool of bright light. There you are, water smiles at this wondrous sight. Lilac bush and winter branches. Curls of flowers, so enhances. How did you get there from whence the cold? A welcome reflection, a soft breeze does hold. To walk and imagine the mixing of spring, with cold winter moments that happened to bring. The light and the water a mixture that day, producing the colors in just the right way. The springtime seems present, though blooms yet to come. I wander the pathways of winter and hum. Of springtime romance, reflections in water, the warmth from this glance, holds my heart here in wonder. A Delight
Photograph
2025
Creation dateThe petals of a flower in bloom, their shapes can be an eclipse pointed or rounded, even if possible squared as corners coming together in a mosaic of forms. Can you discern the elements of a flower this way, each part a petal, turning, grasping along the way the light, the shade, the colors, the silence and noise. Yours travel the breath of each element, a fulfillment of bloom. Yours are a bouquet, each season a delight. Copyright - Susy Kamber All rights reserved Song Selection - Ray of Light - Madonna

Once Upon a Time
Photograph
2025
Creation dateOnce upon a time… The light mixing with the giggling sounds of water flowing gently by the colored stones. The flower opening the breath of its scent, petals one by one extending joy. The air touching down on a leaf as it flutters towards the night energy of the darkened ground. Close by the steady drops of rain splashing a huge river. One day in disparate silence a voice emerges. Once upon a time… Spinning around the trees. Copyright - Susy Kamber All rights reserved Song Selection - ask the wind - Saah

A Conversation
Photograph
2025
Creation dateA dress with a conversation inside it. Take for instance a bright sunny day and you choose a dress perfect to go along with that. I think I’d choose a soft blue one empire waist style with little flowers in the fabric and nothing else because it would look pretty enough to catch the light as I step out the door. On a bright sunny day a dress probably feels downright cheery, when it goes outside. The last time this dress was worn it had picked up all the scents of the day. If you held it real close you would for sure notice. I remembered it smelled of flowers and the fruit stand I walked by. The peachy smell was there along with an earthy scent because I had been eating one of the peaches I bought when you walked past me. Do people make a scent that attaches to their clothes? I know they do if you get real close to them, but I was just out there with a drippy peach wiping it off the flowers on my dress and I looked up that way and caught your eyes. I really don’t know how you got in my dress, but you did. Copyright © Susy Kamber Song Selection - Glastonbury, VT Masako

Assume Paint and Love
Photograph
2025
Creation dateThe paint assumes it can be anything it wants and go anywhere within the canvas. Running down a hillside or onto a tree so that it can grow. Curves might become nothing other then what they are meant to become, or maybe much more then they imagine. The paint soothing the flat surface of a canvas that needs it. In the distance a softened sun addresses shadows for the paint to cling to and own. As I too assume paint and love. Copyright - Susy Kamber All rights reserved Song Selection - ask the wind - Saah

Spring

Creation datePoetry is not an opinion expressed. It is a song that rises from a bleeding wound or a smiling mouth - Kahlil Gibran. Colors are not possessions; they are the intimate revelations of an energy field… They are light waves with mathematically precise lengths, and they are deep, resonant mysteries with boundless subjectivity. - Ellen Meloy, The Anthropology of Turquoise: Reflections on Desert, Sea, Stone, and Sky Even a smile waits to burst open come spring. Cotton Candy Clouds
Photograph
2025
Creation dateAn assembly of cotton candy clouds, a dispersed rainbow with water in a basin of time, all one needed to see heaven he thought, driving along a long country road. As he pulled over and rolled down his window he opened his eyes to the sight of something for the very first time. It was as lovely to him as a ripe dream, the kind you make up inside you and meet. The kind that when you awaken you remember all the details because somehow it really had occurred. The kind that beckoned his smile. Heaven isn’t as far away as he once thought gazing forward. Oh that day was one sight to see along the roadway. Taking in a deep breath he left the window rolled down, a moment or two longer. Getting out it was a whole new sensation for him. Walking along the side of the road he felt a sense of nostalgia that left him standing there wondering why. He kicked a few stones along the side of the road, picked one up and left it in his pocket for another day. The stone a way to remember it was all a matter of being in the moment. He closed his eyes and when he opened them the car drove off and all that he saw went with him. Copyright © Susy Kamber Song Selection - Alicia Keys - De Novo Adagio

Creation date…There is sweet music here that softer falls Than petals from blown roses on the grass, Or night-dews on still waters between walls Of shadowy granite, in a gleaming pass; Music that gentlier on the spirit lies, Than tir’d eyelids upon tir’d eyes; Music that brings sweet sleep down from the blissful skies. Here are cool mosses deep, And thro’ the moss the ivies creep, And in the stream the long-leaved flowers weep, And from the craggy ledge the poppy hangs in sleep… BY ALFRED, LORD TENNYSON Song Selection- Braille - Lisa Hannigan

Artist (En plein air)
Photograph
2025
Creation date“En plein air is the act of painting outdoors. This method contrasts with studio painting or academic rules that might create a predetermined look. The theory of 'En plein air' painting is credited to Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes (1750–1819), first expounded in a treatise titled Reflections and Advice to a Student on Painting, Particularly on Landscape (1800),[2] where he developed the concept of landscape portraiture by which the artist paints directly onto canvas in situ within the landscape. It enabled the artist to better capture the changing details of weather and light. The invention of portable canvases and easels allowed the practice to develop, particularly in France, and in the early 1830s the Barbizon School of painting in natural light was highly influential.[3] Amongst the most prominent features of this school were its tonal qualities, colour, loose brushwork, and softness of form. These were variants that were particularly relevant to the mid 19th-century Hudson River School and to Impressionism.[4]” While biking I photographed and spoke to this painter at a park. Later in the year he brought his work to an event and we were next to each other. This opportunity provided me a chance to show him what I made from the photograph I had taken of him in the park painting En plein air! Spinning Round and Round
Mixed Media
2025
Creation dateThe flowers met as time for grace. Turned petals inward, Upon their face. An inward reflection had thus begun, The quiet leading me to hum. The wind closed eyed, So none could see. Their creases touching the snow bound tree, In wait for warmth to reach and hold. I bend to this, I eased my soul. The slowness now a blessing gained, This quiet splendor does contain. I raise my face upon the sky, Touch me sunshine, feel my smile. ©Susy Kamber All rights reserved As you sit on the hillside, or lie prone under the trees of the forest, or sprawl wet-legged by a mountain stream, the great door, that does not look like a door, opens. Vibrations and Rhyme
Photograph
2025
Creation dateThe breath of trees touching the air. Touching your heart as you become aware. Of colors unseen. In the usual manner. Noticing those colors and starting to wonder. The brilliance of red, the softness of blue, greens becoming purples and blacks to dream through. Some say the light brought them here to us all. For some it is light overcoming a brawl. Some say the colors are put there to stay. Perhaps the colors have no other way. Enlightenment is such, arriving on time. Inside vibrations, reverberations and rhyme. Copyright - S. Not What You Were

Creation dateIn a meadow far from home, lies a force to which I’m drawn. Deep inside this place of grace blooms a heavenly color’s face. Yellows strong and greens with depth. The graceful field the silence left. As though a concert stilled its players. As they listened to the air. Then they played the music after. Frolicking notes alive so clear. This force of nature spoke a rhythm. Colors strong brought forth their light. The silence opened up a message. Vibrations felt throughout the night. Many hear the music found. Fairy in Sepia Collage
Photograph
2025
Creation dateThis fairy was composed of photographs of fabric for her body and her wings from a butterfly. The background was shot at a beautiful setting of flowers close to where I live. The head was problematic and I ended up composing from the surrounding area around the piece. This very much is a composition similar to working with materials layering them, recomposing and looking carefully at the composition. In this case I am using my photography to do this, very similar to collage.
